CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The SCPA Ensemble Eclectique wll give a special performance at the Centennial Barn on Friday, February 15 at their monthly Arts at the Barn free community arts program.

In November of 2012, the ensemble received an invitation from the Jewish Community Center of Krakow, Poland to perform a very special concert of Jewish music at the Galicia Museum in Krakow in April of 2013.  Dr. Rudnick has arranged popular Hebrew and Yiddish songs in a contemporary jazz setting.  The result is a spirited performance of beautiful Jewish melodies, jazz harmonies and exciting rhythms along with creative improvisations from many of the fine musicians.

The SCPA Ensemble Eclectique has been invited to perform a concert tour of Poland with performances in Krakow and Warsaw.  Their tour begins April 1 and returns to the US on April 9th.

The SCPA Ensemble Eclectique is made up of 18 talented student musicians from the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati Ohio.  The group was formed in 2012 by the SCPA Artistic Director, Dr. Isidore L. Rudnick.  The students range in age from 8th-12th grade and are all instrumental music majors at SCPA.

All the student performers in this ensemble are members of the SCPA Chamber Orchestra, SCPA Jazz Ensemble or the SCPA Wind Ensemble.

Centennial Barn is proud to host this performance especially since students are responsible for providing their individual expenses for the tour.  Community attendance and generosity will help them fund their trip.

The program at Centennial Barn begins at 7:30 pm.
