CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Cincinnati State Technical and Community College President has had a large increase in donations to ArtsWavem the group once known as the Fine Arts Fund.
The college raised more than $14,000 for the 2011 ArtsWave Campaign, President O’dell M. Owens reported.
As important as the dollar amount, he said, was the participation rate, which this year reached 27.5 percent. That is nearly triple Cincinnati State’s 9.8 percent average participation rate over the past five years.
“A thriving arts environment creates unexpected benefits to everyone in the community and is an essential element of a healthy and vibrant region,” Dr. Owens said, in a letter to Cincinnati State students, faculty and staff.
Cincinnati State’s goal for the 2011 ArtsWave campaign was $11,500. The final tally was $14,421.25.
The ArtsWave campaign raised $10.7 million dollars this year.
