CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The World Choir Games and Bunbury Music Festival may be over, but you can still enjoy good music during two programs offered by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
The family musical group Muddy River Consort will perform at the Pleasant Ridge Branch Library, 6233 Montgomery Road, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 30.
David Fishlock, father, is the head percussionist of the Cincinnati Pops and Symphony orchestras and mother Catherine is an opera singer. They and their children, 15-year-old Clara, 13-year-old Eleanor, 10-year-old Gabriel and 8-year-old Michael, will be performing American classical and folk music with flute, violin, voice and percussion.
Then at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, the Comet Bluegrass All Stars will be performing at the Main Library, 800 Vine Street, in the Reading Garden Lounge.
The band has opened for such national acts as Ricky Skaggs and performed at the opening ceremonies for the World Choir Games this summer. The CBAS won the Cincinnati Enquirer Cammy Award in 2000, 2001 and 2002 for “Best Bluegrass/Folk Band” as well as CityBeat’s Cincinnati Entertainment Award in 2001, 2002 and 2004 for “Best Bluegrass/Folk Band.”
