CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is hosting a free four-part workshop series, “Art Shapes Us,” led by local artists and educators Cedric Michael Cox and Marcus Fletcher. The workshops will expose young students to different art mediums and processes, and inspire their creativity.

Students age 10 to 16 are invited to attend this four-week series each Saturday in January (Jan. 5, 12, 19 & 26) in the Children’s Learning Center at the Main Library, 800 Vine Street, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  A reception for the artworks created during this series will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, on the first floor of the North Building.

ABOUT THE CLASSES

Images of four artists’ works will be used to stimulate creativity in the students: Cox’s and Fletcher’s pieces, the art of Kevin Cole, and the man who mentored all three of them — the late University of Cincinnati professor Tarrence Corbin.
