Teachers from Carson and Winton Hills training in New York

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A group of Cincinnati teachers and principals are some of the first in the nation to receive training on how to adjust their lessons in order to align with new education standards. The educators, from Carson Elementary in West Price Hill and Winton Hills Academy in Winton Hills, are learning about the Common Core State Standards, which Ohio adopted, from the co-authors of the standards in math and English Language Arts/Literacy.

The goal of the Standards Immersion Institute May on Thursday and Friday in New York City is to empower teachers and principals so they can return to Cincinnati ready to teach their colleagues about the changes.  Full implementation of the standards will take place at the beginning of the 2013 school year.

Norwood company offers new cure for male back hair

Norwood company offers new cure for male back hair

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) – A Norwood-based company, Dermovation, says that for many men, back hair is an annoying and embarrassing problem, for which current back hair removal methods are expensive, painful, ineffective, or depend on others. To remedy the problem, Dermovation has launched BrazilianBack, a do-it-yourself back hair removal product for men that can be performed in complete privacy.

“If you’re a man with back hair, it can have a huge impact your behavior,” said David Sullivan, developer of BrazilianBack. “You don’t want to take your shirt off, swim in public or shower at the gym. Back hair removal options such as lasers are expensive and shaving requires someone else’s help. Men are looking for a product that they can use in the privacy of their own homes to remove their own back hair, which is why I developed the BrazilianBack system. Not only is our system do-it-yourself, but treatments last longer than regular shaving."
