Weatherization training & volunteer effort in Avondale Saturday | Community Spirit

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, People Working Cooperatively, The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance, and Local Initiatives Support Campaign (LISC) of Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky kick off Avondale in Action, this Saturday, August 27, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Weatherization 101 brings together local volunteers to learn basic weatherization techniques through hands-on training and skill application in local homes in the Avondale community.

Volunteers will meet at the Cincinnati Zoo, then go to five homes in the Avondale community, where they will learn and apply weatherization skills including air sealing, water usage reduction, lighting upgrades, and home repairs.  Upon completion, volunteers will return to the Zoo for an after party.
