Cincinnati State to host "Earth Jam'' on Thursday | Environment
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati State Technical and Community College will promote environmental awareness during its 13th annual “Earth Jam,’’ scheduled from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28.
Cincinnati State’s Environmental Engineering Technology faculty, working with industry representatives and Environmental Club members, will staff booths and conduct hands-on activities that focus on local environmental issues and solutions in the courtyard outside the Advanced Technology & Learning Center (ATLC). The event will move inside the ATLC lobbies and lounges if it rains.
“Earth Jam’’ is held every year on the Cincinnati State campus in conjunction with the week-long activities surrounding national Earth Day.
In addition to industry sponsor Toyota, which will be bringing a hybrid vehicle to the event, partners include the Fernald Preserve, the Ohio EPA, Southwest Ohio Water Environment Association, Hamilton County Dept. of Environmental Services, Rumpke Recycling, Hamilton County Soil & Water Conservation District and the Alliance for Chemical Safety. Music will be provided by The Tillers.
Earth Jam will also serve as a forum for other activities. The Environmental Club, for example, will be soliciting donations for the Adjengre Orphanage in Togo, West Africa, while the Horticulture Club will be selling plants to raise funds for future activities.
