Skyline Chili and Hoxworth Blood Center's Crosstown Shootout Blood Drive | Events

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - In honor of the 2011-2012 Crosstown Shootout, Skyline Chili and Hoxworth Blood Center are teaming up to host the second annual Crosstown Shootout Blood Drive. On Wednesday, November 23, donors will be asked to give blood for their team of choice.

Donors will receive a free limited-edition Crosstown Shootout t-shirt and cheese coney as a “thank you,” for their life-saving donation.

“Both Skyline Chili and Hoxworth Blood Center were thrilled with the turnout we had last year, which was the fifth-largest blood drive Hoxworth has ever hosted,” Sarah Lapham, director of marketing for Skyline Chili, said. “We hope even more people come out this year to donate for their favorite team in the Crosstown Shootout.”

Nearly 200 donations were made during last year’s Crosstown Shootout Blood Drive. The 194 donations helped to save 582 lives in the tri-state. To meet current demand, Hoxworth Blood Center needs donations from 350 blood donors and 40 platelet donors per day. The Center serves 32 hospitals in 17 counties in the region.

The blood drive will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center near the University of Cincinnati’s campus. Donors must be 17 years old, 16 with parental consent, and weight a minimum of 110 pounds. Participants must provide a photo I.D. to donate.
