CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Enjoy storytime with Nick Brunker, “The Voice of the Cyclones,” and Twister, the team mascot,  at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Symmes Township Branch Library. 

It’s all part of a pre-game warm-up for “Library Card Night,” where families can save on tickets by showing their RED Library cards at the Box Office for the March 9 Cyclones game.

Show your RED Library card at the Box Office and get a discount on tickets to watch the Cincinnati Cyclones take on the Evansville Icemen at U.S. Bank Arena Saturday, March 9. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Children's Swap & Shop sale to be held in Glendale

GLENDALE, OH (FOX19) - Local parents may want to start some early spring cleaning and sort through old children's clothes, toys, furniture and other gear. The community of Glendale is hosting a children's re-sale event on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30am - noon.

People can sign-up to sell their unwanted chiildren's accessories at the Scout House next to the Harry Whiting Brown Community Center.

Sellers may email hwbcenter@yahoo.com or call 513-678-5077 or 513-652-9494 to confirm participation by March 1 and receive a "seller code." Everyone else is welcome to show up on March 16 to sort through all available gear.

Several free community events scheduled for Macy's Arts Sampler 2013

(FOX19) - Macy's Arts Sampler, presented by ArtsWave, celebrates theater, dance, museums, and music throughout the region in more than 20 Tri-State neighborhoods. The annual community campaign, which raised $11.2 million dollars in 2012, supports local arts organizations.

Over 60 free performances and/or activities will be offered in the following neighborhoods: Clermont County, Columbia Tusculum, College Hill, Covington, Eden Park, Fairfield, Mason, West Chester and Wyoming

The 2013 ArtsWave campaign, the largest united arts fund in the country, runs from February through April, and the goal is $11.5 million.

Free Friday film nights for Black History Month

KENNEDY HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - In celebration of Black History Month, the Empowerment Coalition is sponsoring two special movie nights at Kennedy Heights Arts Center to showcase the history and culture of African Americans.

On Friday, February 8 at 7pm, a powerful documentary film titled "Hidden Colors" will be shown. This documentary is based on the untold history of people of color around the globe, provided with commentary from scholars and historians.

The second movie night will be held the following Friday, February 15 at 7pm. "Something the Lord Made" is a film about a medical partnership of two pioneering surgeons at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. The unique relationship between a black man and a white man is vividly shown through this HBO feature film.

Popcorn and refreshments will be provided to ensure for a movie theatre atmosphere.

GLENDALE, OH (FOX19) - Have an early Valentine's Day with the furriest member of your family while helping a local dog rescue.

The Valentine Portraits & Pet Food drive is being on Friday, February 1 and 8 from 5pm - 9pm at the Glendale Scout House on East Sharon Road.

Receive a Valentine portrait and CD with reprint rights with your pet for $20 dollars. Attendees are also asked to bring a bag of food to help with a local dog rescue.

Score a financial touchdown with College Goal Sunday at Main Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Library will host an open house for parents about applying for federal student financial aid Sunday, Feb. 10, from 1 p.m.– 4 p.m. in TeenSpot at the Main Library, 800 Vine Street.

Volunteers with expertise in navigating the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process will discuss timelines, filing options, forms, and other key information needed that will help college-bound teens and young adults complete the application process. One-on-one consultations will also be available for those already engaged in the process, but who need assistance with specific questions.

Participants need to bring: Student’s IRS 1040 tax return and W2 form, parents’ IRS 1040 tax return and W2 forms, student’s social security card and driver’s license, additional benefit and income information, and FAFSA pin number.
