Filming began Monday in Norwood on MEASURE | News
NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - It's lights, camera, action in Norwood. The crime drama 'Measure' began production on Monday at Dana Gardens. Dana Gardens, also known as Dana’s is a pub on the border of Norwood and Cincinnati and has been considered a traditional watering hole for Xavier University students since 1938. Owner BJ Hayley is turning the bar over to the film crew for part of each day this week. Dana’s will become Shaughnessy’s, a family owned bar in a neighborhood in crisis.
MEASURE is a crime drama, inspired by Shakespeare’s Measure By Measure. Actress Julie Marie Hassett is plays Detective Izzy McClave, a member of a veteran Irish police family. Vince Jolivette and Evan Boymel are Irish brothers, but from the wrong side of the tracks. Rounding out the cast of actors with Cincinnati ties will be veteran television and film actor, Kevin Crowley. One actor that may be easy to spot is Scott L. Schwartz of Oceans 11, 12 and 13 fame. The 6’10” actor may be most memorable in that series as Bruiser, the tough guy who acted like he beat up the one of the Tri States favorite native sons, George Clooney.
Hasset, Schwartz, Crowley and Los Angeles based actress/model Breana McDow all have plans to work off the set, visiting several area non-profit organizations. Hasset’s Foundation of Joy is committed to support programs in the Queen City area because she grew up in Hamilton.
In addition to Dana Gardens, MEASURE will be filming throughout Norwood, Delhi and in West Chester. The film production wraps August 9.
