Only B-29 still flying is coming to Lunken Airport
CINCINNATI (FOX19) - One of the most historically significant and unique military aircraft will be making a rare appearance at Lunken Airport this weekend Friday through Sunday.
This week we remembered the anniversary of D-Day to liberate Europe. The B-29 has the distinction of being the aircraft which brought an early end to WWII in the Pacific in 1945 by delivering the first atomic weapon, thus making this special appearance particularly timely.
FIFI is the only flying B-29 in the world today and will not likely be returning to Cincinnati again. The aircraft will be open for ground tours all weekend, and a few lucky persons will be able to ride in the aircraft by making a donation at 432-418-4100.
