Students travel across the country through Flat Stanley Project

EVANSTON, OH (FOX19) - Second grade students at Alliance Academy of Cincinnati are taking trips around the world. Lucky for them, they never have to leave the classroom. Students in Miss. Horner’s class began the Flat Stanley Project in October.

Each student created and colored their own flat Stanley or flat Sandy and made a list of where to send them. Stanley and Sandy’s first big trip was to the 2012 World Series. They now are making their way to New York, Germany, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

“Flat Stanley and Sandy bring others parts of the world to our classroom and create teachable moments,” said Krissy Horner, Alliance second grade teacher.

Flat Stanley and Sandy will continue to travel throughout the school year. Students anxiously await the return of their dear friends from their worldly travels.
