CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Cincinnati State sophomore Kara McLemore has been named the NJCAA Player of the Week for the week from November 14-20.
McLemore put together her best offensive performances of the young junior college season for the week. The Dayton, Ohio native averaged 22.7 points while shooting a phenomenal 67% from the field in Cincinnati State’s three victories over Rio Grande, Southeastern Illinois and Rend Lake. McLemore scored a collegiate career high 27 points against NJCAA D-I institution Southeastern Illinois and 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds against NJCAA D-I institution Rend Lake.
On the defensive end, McLemore averaged an impressive 5 steals in Cincinnati State’s three games throughout the week and currently ranks 17th amongst all junior college players in the category.
McLemore, who was an NJCAA All-Star participant over the summer, has helped lead the Lady Surge to a 7-0 record and a current national ranking of 3rd in NJCAA D-II.
