Surge earn victory on the road over Edison Community College | Schools

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati State men's basketball team won its first conference game of the season on the road against Edison Community College by a score of 82 to 68.
Early in the game, the Surge found themselves down 11 to 3 before the coaching staff took their first full timeout. After the timeout, the Surge stepped up their defensive pressure and did not look back as the team jumped to an 8 point lead earning a 46 to 38 advantage into halftime.
Midway through the second half, the Surge extended their lead to 15 led by the shooting of sophomores Charles Clarke, Marquis Wilson, Anton Hutchins and Karriem Baker. Clarke finished with a game high 19 points. Wilson finished with 17 points and 6 assists. Hutchins finished with 16 points and led the way defensively with 4 steals while Karriem Baker finished with 11 points. All four players shot 50% or better from the floor as the Surge pulled away to the 14 point victory.
Improving to 12-4 overall with a 1-1 conference record, the Surge will return to action on the road against Owens Community College on Saturday, January 21st.
