The celebration will encompass a lot of things, none more significant than acknowledging the hard work by both the staff and especially the students in progress that has been made in reading.  Glendale Elementary started a new reading program this school year called “Success for All” (SFA).

The students are ranked based on ability and then re-evaluated every nine weeks.  Based on progress, they are then re-grouped into the appropriate reading ranking.

Elementary age students are typically in the “Roots” division – beginner reading.  However when those students move up into the Intermediate (Wings) division, the students get “their wings” in a special ceremony.
