Order deadline for Glendale Plant Sale approaching

GLENDALE, OH (FOX19) - The order form deadline for the Village Gardeners of Glendale Plant Sale is coming up.

The sale features top quality annuals and perennials for decent prices and free delivery.

Extensive varieties available in the attached order form. Please submit your order to Becky Terrell at 180 E. Fountain Avenue by Friday, February 15.

All proceeds are being used to plant and maintain the flower beds in the Village Square Gardens.

Nike set to hire team members for Rookwood outlet store

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - The Nike Factory Store opening soon at Rookwood Tower in Norwood needs a few good people to join their team.

A Nike Open House Hiring event is being held on February 5 & 6 inside of Suite 600 at Rookwood Tower. An information flyer was released about the hiring event on Thursday.

Available positions include, Assistant Head Coach, Lead Athlete, Seasonal Athlete as well as part-time and full-time Athletes. The event is being held between the hours of 10am - 7pm both days.

The new Nike Outlet store is scheduled to open in March.

Winter Warehouse used book sale in Hartwell

HARTWELL, OH (FOX19) - More than 80,000 books and other items will be for sale under one roof at the Winter Warehouse Used Book Sale set for January 17-20, sponsored by the Friends of the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County.

The popular sale features a vast selection of merchandise from audiovisual to print. Most items are priced from $1-$4. Cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. 

A special Half-Off Sale for Friends’ members will be held on January 19 and 20 for a one-time purchase. Members should show their cards at the door, or memberships can be purchased onsite starting at $25.

Nike factory store opening at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - A Nike factory outlet store is moving into more than 12,000 square-feet of space at Rookwood Commons & Pavilion in Norwood.

The Nike store will be another addition to an area that in the next year will be bustling with new businesses including a hotel and more office/retail space.

Nike spokesperson, Erin Patterson released this statement on Thursday; "Nike plans to open the Rookwood Nike Factory Store in Cincinnati, Ohio. The new 12,850 square-foot location offers a multi-category brand experience of Nike footwear, apparel and equipment at a great value. Nike is committed to serving the Cincinnati community through the Rookwood Factory Store with our performance product and passion for sport." 

The next closest Nike outlet in the Tri State is located at Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe. The Nike Factory store in Rookwood is set to open in March 2013.

But when it comes to picking the right device, the choices can be overwhelming. That’s why the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is holding a series of eReader “Petting Zoo” programs at select branches.

Stop by and try out an iPad, Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire and learn more about the Library’s downloadable books and music. Staff members will be available to answer your questions.

Dessert & Wine Sweeten holiday shopping during charity art sale

AMBERLY VILLAGE, OH (FOX19) - Wine and dessert will sweeten the holiday shopping experience during an event that raises funds for a variety of non-profits. From paintings to sculpture, textiles and one-of-a kind jewelry, every item is handcrafted and unique. More than 20 regional artists will be on-site, selling their work, on Saturday, November 17, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
 
Open to all of Greater Cincinnati, the sale is held at Adath Israel Congregation, 3201 E. Galbraith Road, at the intersection of Ridge Road—one block south of the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway. Call: 793-1800 by November 16, for $15 tickets or pay $20 at the door.

Three day used book sale at Pleasant Ridge library

PLEASANT RIDGE, OH (FOX19) - The Pleasant Ridge library is hosting a used book sale November 8 -10.

The library has a wide selection of books and audiovisual items will be available for all tastes for both children and adults, including fiction and nonfiction, DVDs, CDs, and some VHS movies. Prices begin at one dollar, with most items priced from one to four dollars. Part of the sale proceeds will benefit the branch.  

“We’re excited to host a sale for the Friends of the Library,” said Branch Manager David Dukart. “This organization has been enormously helpful to us by paying for programs year after year. This sale also gives people in our own community a chance to purchase books and other materials at bargain prices.”
