CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Metro has partnered with the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Environmental Quality (OEQ) and Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District to reward residents with free Metro passes when they make the green choice of actively recycling.

Metro’s new Recycle & Ride program kicked off this week for five communities: Bond Hill, Clifton, Hyde Park, Oakley and Price Hill.

The program is administered through RecycleBank and it allows recyclers in the selected communities to earn points each time they recycle. CINCINNATI (FOX19) – A proposed interchange on Interstate 71 at Martin Luther King Drive in Uptown would help create 2,000 jobs, according to an economic impact study by the University of Cincinnati Economics Center.

The study found that the interchange construction alone will have a $101 million economic impact. The interchange would also have an economic impact of more than $325 million of private investment, producing an economic impact of more than $460 million in Hamilton County and another $290 million throughout the rest of Ohio.

Fiscal benefits of the MLK interchange and resulting private development include more than $155 million in tax revenue for Ohio, more than $20 million in sales tax revenue for Hamilton County, more than $33 million in earnings tax revenue for Cincinnati, and millions of dollars in property tax revenues.

Car show mostly avoids rain, attracts thousands

SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - The 35th Sharonville Classic Car Show, the first car show of the year, had a big day on Sunday, April 29, 2012 on the streets of downtown Sharonville.

Despite heavy rains during other parts of the weekend, the show was largely unscathed.  A few morning clouds and a sprinkle or two of rain didn’t stop over 350 cars and thousands of spectators view shiny, pristine classic cars while enjoying food, drink, and the midway. (If you only see one photo, click on the headline to see more.)

The Sharonville Chamber of Commerce sponsors and hosts the Car Show each year.  Over 50 volunteers helped the Sharonville Chamber starting at 7am in the morning.  Thanks to the input of many car owners, the Sharonville Classic Car Show added Express Entry for pre-registered cars.  This was a huge success as cars were able to zip right in and not wait in line.
