Where to find gas that is only very expensive

Where to find gas that is only very expensive

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - There is a place in the region where gas can be found for as low as $3.54 or $3.55 a gallon.

Unfortunately for most people around the Tri-State, that place is Carrollton, about halfway to Louisville.

A check of online gas prices at speedway.com and CincyGasPrices.com shows almost all stations charging $3.79 for a gallon of regular (omitting the final '9'), or just a few cents a gallon less.

FAIRFIELD (FOX19) - It's the best of times and the worst of times for people filling up on gasoline in Butler County.

After many stations around the Tri-State raised their prices to $3.59 (plus .009) Friday, very few of them kept them at that level. It appears many stations east of Hamilton along Route 4 from Fairfield to Monroe didn't raise their prices at all, according to cincygasprices.com, and they were generally lower on Monday than they were before the price hike.

Regular prices at stations in that stretch were running from $3.22 to $3.29 after 2 p.m. Monday.

Cincinnati Ranks #7 on Kiplinger.com's 10 Best Cities for Commuters

Cincinnati Ranks #7 on Kiplinger.com's 10 Best Cities for Commuters

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Kiplinger.com names the 10 Best Cities for Commuters, America’s locales with the easiest, most affordable commutes. To make the cut, the cities all have a metro population of at least 1 million and a low congestion cost (a measurement of wasted time and fuel calculated by the Texas Transportation Institute). Also factored in are the average length of commute, local gas prices, yearly delays per commuter, and public transit use.

Kiplinger.com’s list includes:

 1. Rochester, NY

Rochester boasts an annual congestion cost that is $100 less than our runner-up. Residents spend a mere 19 minutes on average commuting to work, compared with a national average of 25 minutes. A Roc-City commuter’s chief challenge is the snowfall, which averages about 100 inches annually.

Cincinnati chooses Vine Street route for street car

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - After a comprehensive analysis, the city of Cincinnati announced Wednesday that the Vine Street alternative is the route the streetcar will take to get to the uptown Cincinnati area.

The city says it's a less expensive route, offers fewer challenges to build, and best positions the streetcar for future expansion.

The Vine Street route also connects the streetcar to University Plaza, Kroger, the Short Vine entertainment district and Christ Hospital.

A map is at the bottom of the page.

Ride to City Hall from Hoffner Park

NORTHSIDE (FOX19)- Some Northside residents are planning a ride to city hall from Hoffner Park to City Hall.

Cincinnati's new bike plan envisions a 445-mile system of bicycle lanes, routes, and paths that will make it possible for tens of thousands more people to leave their cars behind and use their bicycles for daily transportation and recreation in the city.

The seven members of the Council's Liveable Communities Committee will be taking testimony and then voting on the plan at this Special Meeting next week. They need to know that you think it's time that the city took bicycling seriously and set a course for a new future in our city.

There will be ample secure bike parking at City Hall if you ride.
